Explain to your family that you are doing this course so you can all enjoy a better life together. That way they will be more understanding when you shut yourself away in another room to study.

Even quite young children can understand things when you take the time to explain. And to older children, its just someone else in the house doing homework. You may even be able to study together. Take time out for rewards and celebrations, too. For instance, when you complete an assignment, go for a pizza or to see a movie. Rewarding yourself for your hard work and your family for their co-operation will help keep you on track - and your family firmly on your side!
